Education

We always knew we wanted education to play a big role in our nonprofit. We started by sharing our work and science through social media and newsletters. Since then, we have begun building our framework for school talks and have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far!

It is the highlight of our work to share what we do with students, and we strongly believe in outreach and education. To date, we have given educational presentations to schools in Northern California (San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma) and several places in Montana where Dr. Paul Kanive resides in the off-season.

Our friend, Emma, from Landfall Leatherworks volunteered her time and materials to sew us a 15-foot white shark from recycled sailcloth. This sail shark, affectionally nicknamed “Emma,” has been instrumental in helping us convey the size and anatomy of a real adult white shark. Safe to say, it has been a total hit!

We are excited for our outreach and education program to grow as we continue to secure stable funding for our research. If you would like to donate or sponsor an educational talk at a school near you, please email us at californiawhitesharkproject@gmail.com
